Arrowtown 2648km to Queenstown 2676km (28km)

Waking up at 5am isn’t what I wanted especially that we planed not to start walking until 8 o’clock,  but since I’ve been on the trail it’s seems to be the norm.

Had left overs from last night, fish, salad and eggs for breakfast with three coffees. Good to have food other than dehydrated  noodles, pasta or porridge

Walking over the shotover

Easy walk into Queenstown, we took an alternative  path there that saved us 6kms or more. Sun was nice and no rain when we started at 8am.

Letterbox along the way to Queenstown
Walked through the Arrowtown golf course with its well maintained greens and large houses on either side.
There was a couple of options of getting to Queenstown, we took the most direct path looking forward to a rest and some good food.

Queenstown

We walked into Frankton and by that time I was getting tired as we hadn’t  stopped for a rest. With only 4 kms to go, it was decided  to take the local bus into Queenstown  as walking along the highway  isn’t that exciting.

Checked in at the YHA hostel central and after looking around the town for a couple of hours, Ken bought some beers while we relaxed  in our little veranda.

Dinner was at Surreal, few more beers and a hot meal, went upstairs to the balcony, but there were to many smokers so indoor  we went.

Fish and salad meal was great
Accommodation at the YHA  cost 85 dollars  each with a room with two beds. (Saving of 30% with the  low carbon  traveler)
